Assessment and Color Analysis
The first step is an in-depth assessment of your existing brow tattoo, skin, and goals. Our artists evaluate color shifts, undertones, and any scarring from previous work to decide how to neutralize or rebalance unwanted pigments. This consultation establishes realistic expectations and identifies constraints created by earlier procedures.
Because many clients travel from downtown San Mateo and nearby Peninsula neighborhoods, we concentrate the consultation into the start of the appointment and document previous pigment color and dates when available. Local climate and routine sun exposure can accelerate fading or warm shifts, so we factor that into the immediate color plan.
Correction Process and Techniques
In the 1st Session Color Correction we apply color theory and rebalancing techniques to begin neutralizing unwanted tones and anchoring a healthier base color. The objective of this session is to adjust hue and tone where possible and to create a consistent foundation that later sessions can refine without overprocessing delicate skin.
This session at Lilas Marie Studio is scheduled for 210 minutes and priced at $475. During that time we prioritize safe, deliberate adjustments rather than attempting complete transformation. Because previous pigment, skin response, and scarring vary, additional sessions may be recommended to reach your long-term goal.
Expectations Aftercare and Timeline
Expect the brows to appear darker and more intense immediately after the procedure as pigment sits in the skin; color will soften during healing. Typical post-procedure responses include mild redness and surface scabbing. Local mild Mediterranean climate conditions in San Mateo mean generally steady healing, but sun exposure and activities can influence pigment longevity.
Results from this first session are foundational rather than final. Older tattoos with deep or contrasting colors may require staged corrections over time. The trade-off is that a careful first session reduces the risk of overcorrection and gives the artist measurable information about how your skin retains the adjusted tones.
